Black Holes
Riga, Latvia
During the Black Holes Residency, Latvian artist Kaspars Lielgalvis, along with guest artist from France Boris Chouvellon, delved into the unknown, irrational and intense (drawing inspiration from 'Passion') to create process‑based ideas using both indoor and outdoor spaces in future Riga.
Over a three‑week period in March 2025, they experimented with various limitations in time and space, game structures, body practices, emotions and sensory experiences, as well as used reflective surfaces and daring colour combinations, prioritising spontaneity and arbitrary decisions over scheduling and planning of 'Obsession' versus 'Passion'. The exhibition at SUPERMARKET 2025 is based on discoveries made during the residency.
