Studio44 is a contemporary, artist-run gallery with 31 members. Studio44 cooperate with international artists and galleries.It works organic and democratic.Year 2023 Mariana Ekner and Katarzyna Piorek represent Studio44.In 2020,they made an exhibition about memories and reminiscences expressed through diverse media.They consistently work with discarded objects which, through displacements and reworkings, are resurrected as something new. By using recycled materials, they continue their research into creating new and other meanings for trashed, abandoned objects, rusty objects from the playground, used screen print mesh and video. They examine what remains, what comes to the surface when the original understanding is challenged and ingrained codes lose their meaning.
