Galleri LOKOMOTIV
Örnsköldsvik, Sweden
LOCOMOTIVE Gallery is an artist run gallery in association with ÖKKV – Örnsköldsvik Collective Artists’ Workshop, a non-profit association. Since 2010 ÖKKV has an agreement with the municipality of Örnsköldsvik to stage four shows per year. Since 2018 we receive money from the Swedish Arts Council. The goal is to show interesting local, national and international art of high quality.
Margareta Klingberg has met flows of migrants in her neighbourhood in Northern Sweden. Since 2017 her documentary rendition reflects the daily life among asylum seekers from Afghanistan and today's refugees from Ukraine. Linus Krantz’ practice consists of alchemical experimentation within printmaking, and how traditional artistic processes can have dialectics with contemporary societal developments. Kerstin Lindström’s sculpture ‘Rootless’ is part of a series of works, ‘Habitat’, where Lindström reflects on questions of place, breakup and survival.
