Galería Metropolitana, founded in 1998, is a unique art space in Santiago, Chile, situated in the home of its directors, Ana María Saavedra and Luis Alarcón, in Pedro Aguirre Cerda, a working-class neighborhood. The gallery and their house create a fluid space that combines art and life.

For SUPERMARKET 2025, the gallery invites Chilean artists Ash Aravena and Rosario Cobo, who link their works to the idea of microutopia in dystopian times. Ash presents an expanded book of drawings and texts about imagined artefacts for residual spaces, while Rosario presents the records (photography and video) from a performance where she pilots a retro-futuristic ship that travels to meet chimerical and self-managed projects that have managed to survive over time.
