The Blackwater Polytechnic is an imaginary educational institution in Essex, United Kingdom, based in a tangible sixteenth-century barn. We are presenting the Anglian Embassy – a collaboration between Blackwater Polytechnic (Braintree, Essex), the Grange Projects (Great Cressingham, Norfolk) and originalprojects (Great Yarmouth, Norfolk). The Embassy showcases the work of East Anglian artists, demonstrating our strong regional identity.

Our region is experiencing a transformative revolution in energy generation, population growth, gravel extraction, and the severe impacts of climate change on our coast. As we experience our own Industrial Revolution and urbanisation – albeit two centuries later than everyone else – we find ourselves culturally and politically unprepared.
