Arte ry is a Turku-based artists’ association founded in 1960. It runs the contemporary art space Titanik and the international sound art focused residency programme Titanik A.i.R. The association’s main objective is to expand and challenge the possibilities of the artists’ opportunities in today’s art scene. Titanik has been operating as a rent-free exhibition space since 2016 and is known for its ambitious exhibition and events programme. Titanik’s exhibitions react to their environment and discuss current topics in the society, politics and art field. The exhibitions are selected by Arte board members through an annual open call. In 2022 Titanik and Arte are supported by: Arts Promotion Centre Finland, City of Turku, Svenska kulturfonden, Föreningen Konstsamfundet, Kone Foundation, and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
