Artist run gallery "Tema" ("International Experimental Art Action") began its activity in the autumn of 2009. A group of artists has esteblished itself in an industrial area, former timber factory in Klaipeda. The purpose of the environment created by the group of young artists is to implement various creative ideas and initiatives, non-commercial projects involving artists of different spheres: musicians, theatre artists, and representatives of visual art. The fact that each member of "Tema" has his/ her separate theme, gives diversity to creative projects and events; creative workshops, experiments, performances, concerts and other activities create a constant process of art.    

Artist run gallery „Tema“ is creating the communication environment of a new type in Klaipeda city where postgraduate studies for foreign artists and lecturers, creative workshops, and exhibition spaces will join together accordantly and complement each other in the future. The model of art of the youth inducing social openness shall provide with a possibility to get familiar with the phenomenon that is often traditionally called „culture of the frontier“.

Artist run gallery „Tema“ is a sole organization in Klaipėda to be defined  as the creative organization managed by artists. The organizations of this type are popular around the world as they involve artists of young generation and facilitate their creative debuts.
