TEGEN2 has for two decades functioned not only as an exhibition space, but as a site of encounter, resistance and critical reflection – where artistic practice meets lived struggle.
Displacement ● coordinates ● zero point ● memory
In 2015, over one million people sought asylum in Europe. Reception soon shifted towards restriction – openness turning into closure. In Denmark and Sweden, a political refrain took hold: the fewer refugees, the better.
Artists Tina Enghoff and Kent Klich respond to this historical moment through ‘Mapping Boden – An Archive of Re-membering’, developed in collaboration with Havremagasinet. Boden became a temporary node within this displacement – a place of transit, waiting and fragile becoming. Through oral history, photography, photogrammetry and video, the project brings past and present into relation, tracing a significant yet largely unpreserved chapter of Swedish history. Now Mapping Boden is presented at TEGEN2 amid renewed debates on migration, deportations and an approaching election.
