The Swedish Sculptors´Associaton

The Swedish Sculptor´Association is a non-profit Association for professional sculptors, which shall work outwardly to promote sculpture and sculptor´s interests and inwardly for solidarity and friendship.

The Swedish Sculptors´Association strives to improve the professional situation for artists and to establish that the expertise of artists is utilized in different contexts.

The Swedish Sculptors´Association also works to increase an awareness of sculpture and public art in cultural institutions, media and the general public.

Despite the fact that art is brought out into the public sphere and seen by large numbers of people, it is given little or no attention by the mass media. Lack of a public discussion places the work of artists in a vacuum. we want public art to be made visible and subject to debate.

Through the years the association has participated in and organized a large number of exhibitions in parks, palaces, galleries in different parts of the country and abroad. Some are organized and jury selekted by the association and others are initiatives by individual members. The objekt is to show the general public, as well as those who commission public art, examples of the members´work and how various environments can be enriched by sculptural works.
