samara contemporary art periphery "mi"
Samara, Russia
samara contemporary art periphery ‘mi’ (scap ‘mi’) is an independent artist-run space in Samara, Russia, founded in 2022. In order to maintain its independence and distinct exhibition programme, the space does not receive funding from private or state sources. Its projects address complex political and social questions through contemporary artistic practice.
At SUPERMARKET 2026, scap ‘mi’ presents works by Malyshki 18:22 (Tomsk, Siberia, Russia), Alina Brovina (Moscow, Russia) and ‘The Mukha’ out-group (Samara, Russia). The artists explore the concept of the gala concert as a form of political resistance, where brightness and openness challenge conservative norms and forge new, more sensual connections.
