Tehran, Iran (Islamic Republic of)
Paadmaan (meaning ‘safeguard’ in Farsi) is an independent artist-run, and nomadic platform for contemporary art with an interdisciplinary approach. It was founded in 2018 in Tehran by artist-curator Foad Alijani and has relocated to Amsterdam since 2023. Through a variety of curatorial programming, Paadmaan seeks to expand on existing discourses surrounding contemporary art within various artists' communities, support their input and transform into output. Paadmaan aims to proceed networking and constitute an archive of contemporary art by focusing on research, dialogue, presentation and fostering these by organizing exhibitions, events, lectures, screenings and publications.
SHIFT-aa is presentation/research based project, addresses shapeshifting and variation in 14 Iranian selected painters works which are published into 2 volumes books.
