For Twilight Zone at Supermarket Art Fair 2023, Tjörnedala Konsthall/ÖSKG presents Channa Bankier, an artist influenced by Jewish and Eastern thought . In mythically magical and expressive images, often with her own face or her own body as icon and sign, she portrays the existential conditions of man. Her world of symbols is rooted in sexuality and creative power, and her inner mythological landscape is filled with symbols such as vessels, birds, houses and pyramids. Since 1996, she has mainly worked with computer-generated images, reproduced on large wax canvases and as lampshades. Channa Bankier works in the borderland between myths, culture and popular culture.
