microwesten is a dynamic artists' network based in Berlin and Munich, Germany. We connect spaces, cities and people. The basic idea was, that artists can support each other to gain publicity. Through inviting other artists we broaden our own views and create a comment on our own art. This dialogue is part of our statement on art production of the present time. microwesten started in 1999. Over the years we generated a vivid network with even worldwide exchange activities. Two of our artists took part in a residency in Brazil, as an outcome of microwesten-action. In the last years the participation in international art fairs, exhibitons and projects has increased by large. Microwesten took part and helped to organize the first meeting of AIM Europe, a new platform for artists' initiatives in Berlin this year.

For each exhibition or presentation microwesten invites guests to add positions to our internal discourse. All participants profit from the exchange of views and can get into communication with each other.
