Åkern Art Association is an artist-run space in Hälsingland, Sweden. Through exhibitions, public programmes and residencies, the organisation supports practices engaging with relational, ecological and site-sensitive processes.
At SUPERMARKET 2026, Åkern presents ‘Under dessa timmar avlöser vi varandra’ – translated as ‘You guard the door then I absolve you in two hours’ – a performative dialogue by Malin Östberg and Martin Wallén. The durational, ambulatory work explores relational dynamics, absurdity and intimate space. Östberg transforms everyday situations through gestures of care and demand that shift towards the surreal, while Wallén constructs fragile environments shaped by minor domestic incidents and quiet disruptions.
