At SUPERMARKET 2026, ‘The Gift Who Keeps On Giving’ explores gift economies – systems grounded in trust, where goods and services are given without the expectation of immediate or future compensation. The project reflects on forms of giving that operate through delayed return and reciprocal relationships, where value is sustained by community instead of transaction.
Each participating artist, all of whom are involved in the running of the space, contributes a single work conceived as a gift. The presentation considers what is often taken for granted in everyday life, whether material or immaterial.
