ID:I Galleri
Stockholm, Sweden

ID:I galleri has thrived as an artist-run initiative since 2002 with 110 exhibitions taking place on its premises. The gallery recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary with the group exhibition “UnTied Notions”, bringing together 37 current and past members and displaying a diverse range of artworks.
The aspect of individual diversity amongst the gallery’s members creates a point of inspiration for “Composition in Black, White and Ceramic”, a group exhibition featuring the works of ID:I members Åsa Franck, Ann Frössén, Ingrid Jonsson, Linda Karlsson and Örjan Wallert.
The contrasts created between black and white versus colour, two dimensional versus three
dimensional, as well as the differences between media, are important elements used to explore how five unique artistic practices can be displayed together to form one unified composition.
During 2013, ID:I will continue to initiate dynamic and collaborative opportunities amongst its members in addition to building partnerships with other institutions in order to expand its position within the diverse arts community of Sweden.
ID: I is an artist run gallery with twenty-three members who run the gallery and rent it together. The Gallery started at 2002 and since then have had the same adress, on Tjärhovsgatan 19 in Stockholm. Each member is responsible for a two weeks exhibition period including three weekends every second year. Our business involves both own separate exhibitions, exhibitions by invited artists and various types of project exhibits.
ID:I is an art scene where artistic integrity is reflected in the exhibitors and their presentations.
ID: I don´t want to reduce art's complexity or determ its actuallity.
On ID: I it is the intention and responsibility of the exhibiting artist which is the basis for every show.
It is every artist's responsibility to their jobs represent the consciousness that exist, missing or neglected. Most exhibitors at ID: I, are themselves on their exhibition when it is ongoing and will then have a natural dialogue with the art-public.
ID: I´s profile is about a position, to deliberately leave open to a changing of the opportunities, so vital for noncommercial independent fine art.
The gallery is not requesting financial support for its activities, the members finance the operation itself. Individual members may, in their own name seek financial assistance for various purposes.
ID:I is also open to various initiatives that could help to broaden the art scene in Stockholm.
