International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN) is a non-profit organisation that provides long-term shelter for persecuted artists, writers and journalists. At SUPERMARKET 2026, ICORN presents works by artists Ali Rahimi (Afghanistan), Sara Khayat (Syria), Duaa Kamel (Palestine), Mahtab (Iran) and Sanaz Hakimi (Afghanistan).
Sanaz Hakimi works with painting and sculpture addressing Hazara culture and the situation of women in Afghanistan. Ali Rahimi works with painting shaped by experiences of migration and exile. Sara Khayat works with illustration and graphic art addressing women’s, LGBTQI+ and refugee rights. Duaa Kamel works with poetry and writing addressing war and patriarchy, and her paintings explore emotional memory and the human presence. Mahtab works with painting based on traditional Iranian motifs with a focus on women’s freedom.
