In 2023 Gallery 5 & Oulu Artists Association takes part in the Supermarket Art Fair together with three of their member artists. These three professionals build an exhibition stand where perception of time and timelessness overlap.
Hannele Peltorinne (b. 1980 in Pori, Finland) works between installation and photography. The starting point of her works is often plant material collected by the artist from nature or gardens, which in the works takes on the role of a temporal information carrier. Daniel Nagy (b.1980, in Simleu Silvaniei, Romania) is a visual artist mainly working with mono print. He creates ghostly works with stark contrasts where creatures and objects from different times merge into one another creating a reality that feels unstable. Christelle Mas (b.1984 in Paris, France) is photography and mixed media artist. In her work she combines methods both from art and science, creating works where she investigates the human relation to technology and other species. Often her works take the shape of a hybrid being, proposing possible futures to come.
The exhibition is curated by curator Selina Väliheikki and supported by Frame Contemporary Art Finland.
