GalleriaKONE, Ars-Häme ry is an independent artist led initiative. Originally set up in the early 70’s by artists and curators and since its inception the association has focused on developing programs that stand for inclusion and diversity, built on an idea of open access. Located in the Culture & Congress Center Verkatehdas in Hämeenlinna, Finland



GalleriaKONE, Ars-Häme ry aims to organize, develop, implement and disseminate cultural, multidisciplinary and intercultural projects within the social, artistic and educational field. It aims to promote activities locally, nationally and internationally, collaborating with both public and private institutions, involving artists and diverse communities.

GalleriaKONE, Ars-Häme ry’s activities include: curating exhibitions inclusive of all intersections of art (performance, multimedia and the visual arts included), conducting educational workshops, seminars and vocational training, developing creative networks,

The association also holds regular exhibitions in its gallery space, Kone’s commitment to new forms of expression means that they are always open to laboratory-style experiments, which offer artists the opportunity to pioneer unmapped territory, to test their limits and challenge themselves and their audiences. The exhibition program has always aimed to offer the viewers a taste of the unexpected.

ARTOTHEQUE has presented artworks from over 70 artists around the Häme-region since

2007. The art works can also be viewed from internet: www.taidelainaamo.com.

Association has also 1500 sqmeters rented workspace for artists in Hämeenlinna.
