Galleria Huuto is an artist-run organization in Helsinki, active since 2002, with more than 100 members. In August 2018 Huuto moved to the city center, and now runs four gallery spaces in Eerikinkatu. Huuto functions as a platform for contemporary art exhibitions, collaborations, screenings, and events. Huuto is managed by a board and an executive director. Selection committee for the upcoming exhibitions is chosen from Huuto member artists and changes every half a year.
The collaborative installation ”One-Room Flat” looks at first glance like an ordinary room. Yet a closer look at it reveals artworks placed within the installation. A seemingly coherent entity turns into a spectrum of illusionary details. Participating artists are Pasi Autio, Jesse Avdeikov, Terhi Heino, Aino Jääskeläinen, Beata Joutsen, Pilvi Ojala, Kaarina Ormio, Charlotta Östlund, Paula Puoskari, Satu Rautiainen, Antti-Ville Reinikainen, Hanna Saarikoski, Azar Saiyar, Hans-Peter Schütt, Elina Strandberg, Aleksi Tolonen, Kalle Turakka Purhonen, Pauliina Turakka Purhonen and Marja Viitahuhta.
