Galleri LOKOMOTIV is an artist-run gallery operating in association with ÖKKV – Örnsköldsvik Collective Artists’ Workshop, a non-profit association. Since 2010, ÖKKV has collaborated with the municipality of Örnsköldsvik to produce eight exhibitions annually, and since 2018 the organisation has received support from the Swedish Arts Council. The gallery presents local, national and international artistic practices.
At SUPERMARKET 2026, Galleri LOKOMOTIV presents three visual artists based in Västernorrland and Västerbotten.
Jonna Iversen works with a contemporary archaeological approach, collecting traces of everyday human behaviour through photography and reused materials to explore empathy and human connection.
Maria Mäki’s photographic and film-based practice draws on Finnish cultural heritage; in the film ‘Den vars namn inte uttalas högt’, she examines the bear’s role in Finnish folklore.
Staffan Westerlund combines painting and performance to articulate critical positions, exploring tensions between the personal and the public through improvisation and chance.
