Galería Metropolitana
Santiago, Chile
At SUPERMARKET 2026, Galería Metropolitana presents ‘Stockholm Syndrome III’, a solo exhibition by Chilean artist Nicolás Miranda. The project is the third and previously unpublished iteration of ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ and is realised as a site-specific sculptural installation.
The presentation centres on sculptural busts depicting Swedish political figures, produced as devalued objects and sold in advance, framing the circulation of images as a form of symbolic abduction. The exhibition also includes photographic and video documentation from Miranda’s recent interventions in Madrid, ‘Parasitic Strategies for Survival in a Cruel World’ (2023) and ‘Child’s Play’ (2025). Together, these works examine power, spectacle and political imagery through strategies of displacement, appropriation and staged intervention.
