Fylkingen - New Music and Intermedia Art is an artist-run, non-profit association for experimental music and art. The association was founded in 1933 and currently consists of approximately 300 Swedish and international artists who develop and present new work in Fylkingen's own venue located in Stockholm, Sweden. The association is run by an active board and programming group. In addition Fylkingen Records produce and distribute recorded media. In 2018, Fylkingen celebrated its 85th anniversary, making it one of the world's oldest forums of its kind. Fylkingen is supported by the Swedish Arts Council, The city of Stockholm’s cultural administration and Stockholm County Arts Council.
Fylkingen is presenting three works from the members Ami Kohara, WOL (Wenche Tankred och Lovisa Johansson) och Sanna Söderholm (med Elinor Tollerz Bratteby som Uncover Choreography).
Ami Kohera presents at Fylkingen a new sound/video installation which is an exploration of everyday rhythms built into the landscape and individuals’ habitual conditional rhythms under the pandemic.
UNCOVER CHOREOGRAPHY
Presents the work Ralph is an 18 minute slow sensual transformation. The dance piece is inspired by dancehall and hip hop fashion as well as music video aesthetics. Two figures in fur coats have adorned themselves in excess of bling bling. The spectator gets drawn into a fictional reality where a flow of potential characters and creatures occur. Uncover Choreography consistists of choreographer Sanna Söderholm and dancer Elinor Tollerz Bratteby. Their interest is to update and surprise themselves and the audience with exploratory work that challenges and entertains.
WOL presents ”the Legend of the Musical Mushroom” WOL undergoes a metamorphosis and re-emerges as ”the Musical Mushroom”. The fungus natural habitat is the forests around Upplands Väsby, but on rare occasions it can be seen and heard in more inhabited areas. WOL is listening. WOL is playing. WOL is making noise.
