Established in 2008, FELTspace is an artist-run initiative located on the unceded Kaurna land of Adelaide, Australia; supporting, developing and presenting emerging, experimental, and diverse exhibitions and public programs. FELTspace is the oldest ongoing Artist Run Initiative (ARI) currently operating in South Australia and sits within the small-to-medium arts sector within South Australia's wider arts ecology. FELTspace has a track record of creative achievement and skill of leadership team and artists, and, since 2022, pays artist fees to exhibiting artists. FELTspace’s annual program delivers a series of six-weekly curatorially-ambitious exhibitions that occupy its three exhibition spaces (front, back and the digital screen of FELTdark), public talks, a suite of mentorship programs, residencies, a writers’ program, one-off live events, and offsite projects in collaboration with other artist-run organisations to bolster new artistic networks. FELTspace encourages applications from emerging and early-career art practitioners; and also welcomes proposals from mid-career and established practitioners testing new and experimental approaches.
Established in 2008, FELTspace is an artist-run initiative located on the unceded Kaurna land of Adelaide, Australia; supporting, developing and presenting emerging, experimental artists, diverse exhibitions and public programmes. In 2023, FELTspace will exhibit a curatorially ambitious programme showcasing selected works of diverse South Australian artists. The programme will bring together experimental artists across mediums, including sculpture, textile, drawing, painting, and digital performance. It will highlight bold, original, and irreverent work from South Australian artists who push the boundaries of form, experiment with mediums, and take risks in their subject matter.
