ETAJ artist-run space
Bucharest, Romania
E T A J is an artist-run space founded in 2018 by Mircea Modreanu. The initiative brings together artists who organise through shared interests and collaborative structures rather than fixed institutional models. E T A J supports individual and collective practices with an emphasis on experimentation, process-based work and critical reflection. Its format remains intentionally fluid, shaped by the artists involved and the contexts in which it operates.
At SUPERMARKET 2026, E T A J presents ‘Main Hall – The Living Space of Art’. The project reimagines a palace hall as a living artistic environment where making, interaction and exhibition overlap. The booth is painted with classical motifs and interwoven with artworks by invited artists. Over the course of the fair, artists work on site through painting and collage, engaging with visitors and allowing the installation to evolve continuously. The presentation reflects on art’s position between monument and process, and on participation and temporality.
