DKTUS is a contemporary art project space and platform for collaboration in Stockholm. It is intended to showcase both young and established artists and encourage the exchange of ideas between international and local practitioners. DKTUS’ programme aims to instigate dialogue and widen access to contemporary art. Our activities include exhibitions, talks, book launches, film screenings and other cultural events.

The gallery is located underneath what used to be the gardens of the former royal palace. As one of the oldest maintained cellars in the old town the historic building has among other things served as a storage space for the court, a calefactory for the police and a workshop where electrical equipment for ships was once manufactured. Since 1725 when the Finnish church took over the adjacent building originally built as a ball house for the court, the space has also served as an activity centre for the youngest members of the congregation.
