David Krantz is born 1965, lives and works in Malmö. In his art he has previously used traditional techniques although his works are far from traditional. Often he takes as a starting point an older technique or style and produces his own version of it. By twisting the contents and moving the viewer’s perspective he brings the past into our present.
Over the past fifteen years, David has moved from painting and other traditional techniques toward the digital. He works on the frontline of what is technically possible using software and 3D-printing. Despite all the technology that forms the foundations of his works they are not perceived as mechanical or rigid but lively and organic.
David Krantz has studied at the Art Schools Forum in Malmö and Valand Academy in Gothenburg. He has had solo exhibitions and been a part of group exhibitions at Malmö Konsthall, Moderna Museet Malmö, Liljevalchs, Dunkers Kulturhus, Borås konstmuseum as well as many other galleries and art galleries.
