Detroit Stockholm
Stockholm, Sweden
Detroit Stockholm is an artist-run studio collective and gallery for artists from various disciplines. Founded more than a decade ago, it is today run by its 23 members. Diversity is one of our strongest attributes. Our current members are from Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Mexico, US, Argentina, Slovakia, Iran, Ireland and the UK, working with performance, installation, textile, film, painting and more. Our core values have always been to provide affordable art spaces, with the gallery as a free platform to explore ideas. As a complement to our members' exhibitions, we also invite local and international artists to share their art, projects and workshops. The public program at Detroit Stockholm has included art exhibitions, music & art happenings to nomadic performance-art festivals.
Alberte Skronski's work "At The Supermarket" is life distorted into the aesthetic. Part surreal and part grotesque, the installation is performed in by the artist. The Supermarket will include items for sale, a checkout counter, produce belt, item scanner and a cashier.
