Bierumer School
Bierum, Netherlands
Bierumer School presents the project Vrijplaats Voor Verbeelding (Sanctuary for Imagination) by Jorien Ketelaar. Vrijplaats Voor Verbeelding is a programme of the unexpected; spontaneous encounters
conversations, collaborations and the processes that result from them. It offers space and time to discover, to try, to experiment and to cooperate. For a year, she conducted artistic research into the surroundings and built a bridge between the villagers and the Bierumer School.
In her work, Jorien Ketelaar is looking for other ways of making and sharing art. Space for reflection on what is there is interesting material for her because there is so much to see and experience around us.
Jorien Ketelaar presents the documentation and work that was created during this one-year residency, including papers that were published, reflections and manuals, routes, instructions and other printed matter. The presentation space will also become a newsroom, where the Hidden Times newspaper will be produced in cooperation with the people visiting.
