Art Container

Art Container is a group of artists running the independent art gallery of the same name in Culture Factory Polymer in Tallinn, Estonia. Art Container is a symbiosis of a shared studio space and a gallery, it`s aim is to offer a creative environment and a possibility to exhibit and perform.

Art Container artists have exhibited and performed as an artist group since 2008 in Tallinn, Estonia, Riga, Latvia and Miami, Florida. The Bathers, the sauna installation and performance has been part of the program of Balta Nakts festival in Riga, Latvia in September 2009,

Fountain Art Fair in Miami in December 2009 and Brisbane Feastival in Australia in Setember 2010.

Art Container is the main gallery of Culture Factory Polymer, focusing mostly on independant visual and performance art. It has two gallery spaces and a shared studio. From 2007 until the beginning of 2009 it was run under the name of Non Grata Art Container.

Art Container is a gallery that is open 24 / 7 for a wide variety of creative practices. It's a uniting platform for different disciplines with exhibitions, art events, regular workshops, literature events, video screenings and music events.

The series of cross-disciplinary events titled Global Container is curated and organized by Art Container since the January of 2008, bringing together international and local visual and performance artists, contemporary dancers and musicians. There is approximately one Global Container event every two months and there have been eighteen events so far with participants from France, Germany, Austria, Latvia, Russia, Spain, USA, Australia, Puerto Rico, Mongolia and other countries. Global Container XVII in July 2011 was held in Fengersfors, Sweden, in a cultural center called Not Quite, bringing 14 Estonian performance artists to perform in front of Swedish audience.
